I can't remember the year exactly but it was the year of my dad's high school reunion. One of his friends came from out of town and brought his kids. His daughter was a couple of years older than me. I think her name was Krista Birkelo or something.
I think Kevin must have been there and I think John and Derek were too but I'm not sure. We were all playing video games in my room. Through the course of the night, I fell in love with her. As a little boy, this happened to me a lot of times with a lot of girls; unrequited love with some random girl and dreaming of her for the next few weeks.
Anyway, nothing happened because I was just a little boy and she could not have possibly had any interest other than to be flattered. But afterwards I went around telling my friends and my cousins that we kissed. I think the lie grew bigger with time and some people were told that I copped a feel.
Well, nothing actually happened other than me maybe fooling some people for a few moments.

Growing up in the 50's gives a person a different outlook then any other generation. I want to write about attending my first baseball game at Briggs stadium (later called Tiger stadium). On TV I saw the game in glorious black and white but I remember walking up the ramp to the seating area and seeing the most beautiful green baseball diamond in the world. I was totally in awe and didn't move for the longest time. My dad looked down at me and knew he made the right decission to take me out to the ballgame.Later when I became a dad I love to take my daughters to see the Tigers

I remember many times going to Tigers games when Dan and I were kids.  Dan and I were huge baseball collectors and card collectors at the time so we knew everyone on the tigers in the Late 80's and early 90's.

Some of our favorites were people like Alan Trammell, Paul Gibson,Lou Whitaker,
Chet Lemon, Travis Fryman and Cecil Fielder.

Cecil Fielder was my absolute favorite because there was some hype about him breaking Babe Ruth's home run record.  He did accomplish that and I felt like I knew a star athlete and I was also happy because all of his cards went up in value.

After 1990, many people out did him, but I feel that they did it with drug enhancing help.

I really appreciate my parents being able to take us to the ball game.

I loved the ambiance.  I remember having my parents buy me this huge cardboard tiger arm that we would could use.  There is just something about a ball game that really defines America.

My children will also be going to lots of Tigers . . . Read More..

One time I spent the night at my friend Chris' house on a friday night. He was my best friend all throughout middle school, but this idea of ours to hang out turned out to be a life changing event for both of us.

We both we kind of sick and both had some kind of flu or something on this particular friday night and we did our usual stuff like play Super Nintendo into the wee hours of the night.

But that night something really messed up happened.  I had a Grand Maul Seizure in his house.  The reason I had one was because I was recently weened off of my medication.

Basically I was in a dream and I vividly remember falling from a cliff.  At this point in reality physically fell off the couch.  In my dream I hit the ground and I remember feeling like I was on fire.  Most doctors can tell you that you never feel anything when you have a Seizure, but I can tell you that it was the worst pain in my life and in my dream I was screaming and crying.

This one time I did a demo of an online Karaoke Machine that I developed for a competition. The demo was for my Cousin Beth and one of the most beautiful songs that she sings. The song is called "Here With You" (WATCH HER VIDEO).

I used one of her songs off of her unbelievable debut CD which is basically the most amazing piece of artwork in the entire world!. I demoed this web application that would sync up lyrics with any MP3 and would display the lyrics following what the actual singer was singing.

I demoed it in front of all of my Aunts and Uncles. I thought something great would come of it and I even won 1000 dollars in a technology competition.

But memorycrawler is my most innovative piece of work to date.

Happy crawling.
