I don't know what made me think of this, but I remember one time my dad took

and I to a tea party. On Saturday afternoons the library would have a lot of random events, and one happened to be the American Girl Tea Party. The American Girls were a collection of books for kids, and they were series of stories of different girls living in different time periods. For example, my favorite was always Samantha, who was a girl that lived in New York (I think) in the 1940's. Now they have an American Girl store in Chicago that sells clothing and dolls of the characters. I'm sure my parents would have had to shell out hundreds of dollars on that stuff for Christmas presents if it was around when we were little.
