| ![]() That summer, I went back to work at Sunny Days, the best camp ever. I sent out an interview to Romulus because a friend had told me it was my kind of place. I remembered to apply because I drove through it one day on the way back from Allen Park and thought to myself it looked a lot more real than AP. So late June they called me for an interview, for an 8th grade language arts position. It was the first interview of the summer and I was nervous as all get out. I abandoned the suit attire and didn't take out my nose ring. I made a list of 3 things I wanted them to know about me, even if they didn't ask. The interview was amazing. I felt on top of my game and excited. It went over 15 minutes, which also felt great. All good signs but good signs in interviews don't always matter - the other interviews I had went great but nothing came of them. I expected nothing. In the middle of camp chaos, I got a phone call from Romulus' human resources. They were offering me the job! And the starting salary was extremely generous. I remember screaming up and down in the parking lot after the phone call, after I attempted to be mature in my conversation but found myself blubbering things like, "You just made my summer!" (He still reminds me I said that.) I called everyone in my family, literally. My mom in Germany (pricey call from a cell!), Ryan's mom, my grandparents, my aunt, etc. I was still hopping up and down. Remembering that moment still brings a smile to my face. I really love my job. It was in the stars for me, I guess. |

| The night Ryan proposed to me didn't start off great. I don't remember what it was, but we had a picky argument about something. Not a fight, since we really rarely fight, but just were nit-picking one another. At the time, we only had our bulldog Henry and part of his nightly routine was to get a Greenie (note: don't EVER feed these to your pets! afterwards we discovered how horrible they are for them) before bed.
So grumpily, Ryan asked me to go get Henry a greenie. Henry, of course, followed me into the kitchen and I heard Ryan behind me, which I found odd. And as I handed Henry the greenie, I saw that around his collar was a beautiful diamond ring. As I put my hands up to my mouth in shock I turned to see Ryan, in his pjs, on one knee. Don't tell anyone I told you, but he cried. :) So I, of course, said yes and we hugged/cried for a few minutes in the middle of the living room. We were in our PJs and Henry was chomping on a greenie. It was so me, so us, that it was . . . Read More.. |

| I have been married for about 2 and a half months now and mostly just hang out with my best friend Susan.
But sometimes it is good to have a night away and to hang out with the boyz. When I started my new job this week I instantly made lots of friends. All the developers at my new job are really great people and really cool and hard working. So anyways, last night I played smash with this programmer friend of mine named Matt. He and I drank a few beers, played smash, philosophized and ate pizza. We have a lot of the same opinions about programming techniques and about a lot of different topics. It was really great to finally have my first boys night out where men can be men and we can just chill. Thanks Matt.... good to know I got some new friends here in Tampa. Feel free to sign up to my website and critique my two years of PHP work to create this blog software called memorycrawler.com. |

What beautiful and inspiring words you wrote on my website and I am honored for you to share them here.
I have found writing some posts about myself I have been in tears because they were tough memories that you dont think about often because of the difficult and powerful emotions that you had while living through those stories.
Your mom got to see you and Elizabeth and David grow up to be really great people.
I wrote this website so I could try to post memories from my grandma who died a few years ago because I find that one major part of healing is reminiscing and knowing that you loved and spent as much time with the person while they had the honor of living on this planet.
You cannot regret any part of any relationship and I am sure you will honor your mother in everything that you do in the future Julie.
Move on and forget him.
