We had a very busy winter in 2006 because Susan and I planned things to do every weekend. One fun thing we did was take a trip with Cynthia and Susan down to Maryland to meet up with some friends to go skiing. Nothing too interesting happened on the drive there. But toward the end I was freaked out by Susan's driving because there were many winding dirt roads and she was driving with a lead foot. I commented a whole bunch about how I was fearing my life! I think I like being in control in those types of situations.

Anyway, we got to this beautiful mansion tucked away in this really nice neighborhood. Most of the people there were from Maryland and we all just played games and drank the whole night. One game was beer pong which I didnt participate, but we think that either that game (drinking out of random cups) or the hot tub and skiing attributed to Susan getting sick after the trip. That night was pretty crazy. One crazy thing that happened while everyone was asleep was this dude ended up taking a spill into the corner of a table. Most of us were woken by the huge crash when it happened. Apparently the dude, wanted to go in everyones room and wake people up. He was way plastered and he apparently was slurring his way in and just tripped into a corner. I got up and he had a beef jerky bag filled with ice on his bloody eye. I tried to talk with him but he was quite unresponsive. I tried to help by trying to get on the internet to see where the nearest hospital was. In fact they didnt even have a land line turned on. He ended up not skiing because of his gash in his eye and had to get about 6 stitches.

Skiing the following day was interesting. We ended up going to the huge mountain (biggest I have ever skied) at about 1 PM because we were all trying to sober up from the last night. Instead of skiing this year I decided to pick up a snowboard. Susan and I both rented, but she chose to ski. Once we were in line for our boots and equiptment, we noticed one of Kelly's advertisements on the wall. Ironically, I accidentally kicked it down while trying to put my boot on.

The weather that day was a bit too warm. Susan was getting frustrated about falling at first and I was getting frustrated too because I dont like to see her not having fun. We stayed on the bunny hill for a few hours and I ate like 10 slim jims while going on the lift up the hill. Someday I will have a heart attack and will know the cause. Anyway, I mostly sucked and was super rusty with snowboarding too. The rest of the dayh was pretty standard stuff. Susan started to become very good at controlling herself and we all had a lot of fun.

Once night hit, it started getting very cold out and all the slush we had been skiing in turned to ice. Eventually we said we would head back and this is when all the interesting things began to happen. I accidentally led the two girls (Susan and Cynthia) down a blue diamond which was full of ice. At one corner, it was way to steep for them and they began to slide on their butts all the way down. Me being the gentleman began to make my way to their rescue because they didnt look like they were going to be able to get up on their feet on that ice. In doing so I took off my snowboard and away it went down the hill. This time it went straight off the side of a cliff. So I probably spent 15 minutes looking for a dark green snowboard in a tree infested cliff. It was very dangerous had I went down it to get it. So I walked down the whole mountain with the girls, fuming at how I might have to pay 500 dollars for the rental.

Gladly everything worked out and they said it happens all the time (no big deal).

The rest of that night was cool. We were exhausted and yet still partied a bit. I remember a guy showing some sweet magic tricks as well as some games of pool.

In the morning a slick amount of snow fell and come to find out (after I was attempting to get some money out of the bank at an ATM) that Susan's Car (The Silver Stallion) couldnt make it up the hill. After numerous attempts and about 15 minutes of going about 4 inches a minute up this hill, she made it and I parked it on top of the hill just in case the snow melted. To our luck it melted by the time we left. Overall this weekend was a blast and the mansion was unlike anything I had ever slept in. Definitely some good times.
